This page identifies the proper office for official Cherokee County, Georgia, court dockets and case records. Most requests belong with the custodian that holds the file, not with this private reference site. The Cherokee County Clerk of Courts handles Superior, State, and Magistrate filings; Probate, Juvenile, and city municipal courts use separate clerks and access paths.

This Is Not a Court or Government Office. Cherokee County Court Docket is privately operated. It cannot pull official dockets, change or reset court dates, remove or seal cases, issue certified copies, or give legal advice. Those matters must go to the court or clerk that maintains the record.

Need an Official Docket or Record?

These are the main routes for Cherokee County records. Georgia has no single statewide public case-search portal. The Georgia Judicial Gateway E-Access directory routes to participating providers, while Cherokee's Clerk of Courts maintains the local Docket Feature and the complete case file.

  • A county docket sheet: use the Cherokee Clerk Docket Feature or the Docket Search, then request the complete record from the Clerk of Courts when the online view is limited
  • A court date or setting: check the Court Schedule and confirm the date with the assigned calendar clerk or the office holding the case
  • Certified copies: order from the custodian of the record, usually the Cherokee County Clerk of Courts for Superior, State, or Magistrate matters
  • A specific case: use the Docket Search by party name, case number, or the field supported by the court's system
  • Court records and case files: use Court Case Records for the Clerk of Courts copy process, then route Probate, Juvenile, and city matters to their own offices

For Superior, State, and Magistrate dockets, the primary counter is Patty Baker, Cherokee County Clerk of Courts, Frank C. Mills III Justice Center, 90 North Street, Suite G-170, Canton, GA 30114. The main line is 678-493-6511. General office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; complete record requests are directed to the office from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mail copy requests use the same Suite G-170 address.

The Clerk of Courts publishes separate lines for each record area. Use the department that matches the court and file:

The County Clerk is a different office. Its open-records route covers Board of Commissioners and other county administrative records, not Superior, State, or Magistrate case files. The county open-records request route should not replace the Clerk of Courts case-copy procedure under the Georgia Open Records Act.

Other court custodians: Juvenile Court records are kept by Juvenile Clerk Chesley Cantrell at the Justice Center, 90 North Street, Suite 310, Canton, GA 30114, 678-493-6560. Probate Court has its own clerk staff at 90 North Street, Suite 340, Canton, GA 30114, 678-493-6160. Use the Juvenile Court contacts or Probate Court contact page for those files.

City municipal courts: a citation issued inside a city may never appear in the county Clerk of Courts search. Contact the issuing municipal clerk:
